HR Assistant

Purpose:
The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. This role assists with recruitment, employee records management, onboarding, payroll support, and general HR functions to ensure smooth HR operations and compliance with company policies.

 

Primary Functions:
In general, but not limited to:

  • Assist with recruitment and hiring processes, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
  • Support employee onboarding and orientation processes
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases
  • Assist with payroll preparation by collecting and verifying employee information such as attendance and timesheets
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Help coordinate training programs and employee development activities
  • Assist in administering employee benefits and leave programs.
  • Prepare HR documents such as employment contracts, letters, and reports
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations
  • Support HR projects and other administrative tasks as assigned

 

Critical Skills & Qualifications:

  • Human Resource Certificate or related field
  • Previous administrative or HR experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of HR processes and employment laws is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR software systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

Benefits: Eligible after 90 days

Pension: Pension after 1 year
